On October the 4th...

Originally posted on Livejournal in October 4, 2011. Shamelessly copy-pasted here in blogger to make it look active...xD

So it was 1am in the afternoon that the school lets us out of the wild again, and reminds us that we need to study for the second day of exams tomorrow, talk about Indian Origami, and submission deadlines of projects, usual school stuff.
Now that I was free, I convinced a friend to come with me to the mall to check out their shelves (since my other friend who is also a fan of PJO can't come because of test week). She wasn't willing to come with me at first until I promised her a smoothie and a free ride to and fro.

And so we went.
---
Let's call my friend Pi, as in "Pie" and "3.14". So we arrived at the mall and were making way to the bookstore. I had my fingers crossed, hoping that the books were on the shelves. My friend, Pi, was looking at me weirdly, with me all muttering around "Please be available Please be available...". When we arrived, I made a run down to the shelves (Particularly the Kids [where the rest of Rick Riordan's books sat gloriously with the other best-sellers] section, Fantasy Section, The New Arrivals Section and even the Travel section and Religion section) and thoroughly looked at the books available. No familiar title was in sight. I panicked and then I made my mind. Maybe the books were still not available in the country until tomorrow or maybe even next week. So I started walking slowly to the exit, muttering, "Stupid third-world country. Not up-to-date with the latest fad..."
Then I remembered. There was one section in the bookstore that was dedicated for Rick Riordan (the manager must've been a fan of the author). I made a run for it, Pi on my tail, and then, finally, I saw it.

Copies of The Son Of Neptune sat there beside copies of The Lost Hero. It looked glorious with its amazing cover and condition. The description on the back of the book was interesting. I almost cried for Pete's sake! For two things. One, because the bookstore is up-to-date with pretty much everything (and that was, like, tears of joy or something) and I have seen the book in person and I could finally prove my dad wrong about the release date of the book. Two, I didn't bring money to buy a copy (I only carried my lunch money, and this counts as tears of stupid-ness). Pi still looked at weirdly, and she looked absolutely taken back when I started biting the book's cover.
"Now that we have found your book," she started, "can we go now? I'm hungry."
And so we left the bookstore (reluctantly), went to the nearest refreshment store, bought her the smoothie I promised her, using all the lunch money I had, making my wallet a desert again.
---
When I arrived back home, I confronted my father right away.
"Where have you been?" he scolded. "It's two in the afternoon! I thought you said you'll be back by twelve noon."
"Well, there's this Indian origami demonstration we had to watch," I replied. "And here's a booklet about the origami. After that, I went to the mall."
The latter information took him by surprise. Then he crossed his arms and said, "It's test week! What on earth were doing hanging around?"
"Well, I had to check out the stocks in the bookstore! To check out if Son Of Neptune is available!"
Dad arched an eyebrow. "And?"
"It's available alright," I said triumphantly. Dad groaned. "You ain't getting it today. It's test week."
"But dad, I've been waiting for this for this for a year!" I complained. "Besides, if you buy me a copy, I won't be on the computer for a week!"
He thought for a long time in the silence. Me not being on a computer for a week is a fairly good deal, actually.
Finally, he said. "I'll think about."
"Then think fast, man!"
"Okay, fine!" he grumbled. You can have a copy today."
I started dancing around in glee.
"...if you do the laundry."
I stopped in middle of my funky-chicken and stared at dad.
"What."

I have not updated. 9_9

So here's last week's updates.

Best Friend's Birthday Last Saturday. Went to the Bowling Party. Ate Cake and Pizza. Met an online friend in Real Life.
And Found an English Translation of Noli Me Tangere when me and my bestie strolled around a bookstore. And the translation is just recent and fresh and the reviews says it's so awesome that the peeps should really check this out. Oh. Em. Gee. But sadly, I bring my money with me to buy the novel. I'm going to cry now. It was the last one on the bookshelf! I just hope there would be more copies. I'm a bigggg fan of Jose Rizal...

But anyways, me dad bought me two new books today. And it looks so awesome, even though I haven't even start reading it. I can't wait, though.

Ack, I read so many different kinds of books today that I forgot to review them. Sorry about that, but the following posts in this blog is going to be spammed with book reviews that I've read (hopefully). Hope enjoy the ride!

Fan Pairings = OOC?

Sorry, our exclusive for today is not about my Sister's epic prediction about The Lost Hero, but I have an interesting discussion.

So, a little while ago, I had a stomach ache from eating a spoonful of cornbeef for breakfast. D:
Yes, I know, it's not cool.
So, I didn't eat all the breakfast, had a few trips to the bathroom and laid down on the bed while watching TV. And, oh, I watched an episode of Charmed on TV.

It could've been the happiest hour of the day If I didn't have my stomach aches.

My little sister was using the computer (since I have stomach aches, and TV was near the computer) when I was watching Charmed. The characters were just speaking/throwing out the other characters names, as usual, since this is a TV show. Some of the names made my sister's eye twitch. And I had smug look on my face when I was seeing that. Seriously, I was having fun watching her instead of the show.

So there was this one scene at the almost end of the episode that made my sister go ballistic. Here's the convo we had when we were watching it:

Sister: So who's that dude? He's name is Leo...am I wrong?

Me: Oh? Oh, yeah, that's his name.
Sister: And...who's the girl's he's hugging? Is that his wife or something, since they look at the kids weirdly. Me: Oh her? Her name's Piper.
Sister: O_O OMGZWTF WHEN?!!?

...then that's when she went ballistic and went ranting. I told her that it's really their names (well names of the characters the actors are playing) and I'm not making it up. And yes, maybe Rick Riordan got those names from the show for the book as a shoutout, but that's just me and TVtropes, so we're not totally sure. No, I told her Charmed is a different fandom from The Heroes of Olympus. And no, she is not angry for this Leo/Piper thing. Actually, that's her OTP for The Heroes Of Olympus.
TVtropes, you rock!

....and you're saying, "what?"

Yeah, that was my reaction as well.
But I ain't against that OTP. I think it's cute. xD But don't tell that to anyone, shhhh....

Actually, I have never seen my little sister pick up a fan pairing (other than iCarly's Seddie, which, probably, is slowly becoming an official couple, but that's just the internet). She's always go with the flaw when it comes to pairings, but when was reading the book, she boldly stated that she was uncomfortable with this Jason/Piper thingy.

You should've seen us when we were watching iStart a Fan war. W
e also brought out our pitchforks and yelled "Seddie!" to the TV along with the people.

She said she wasn't comfortable with the pairing, so she quickly moved around the book and found another one. It took me days to figure it out! She just won't spill it! I mean, she wrote the pairing's names in codes and I don't even know what it means! I didn't know she invented the code! D8

But after a painstaking week, a couple of fan-pairings ("Jason/Thalia? Piper/Thalia? Leo/Khione? Leo/Thalia? Jason/Leo? Oh, goodness sake, sis, spill it out!! D:"), I finally force it out of her. My initial reaction?

Me:...welcome to the club, sis! High-Five! 8D

I'm actually a go-with-the-flow pairing dude myself, though, 20% of the time and fandom, I rage war.
But seeing my sister pick up a fan pairing...that is so not her. At all. But I told her that nothing is wrong with picking up a fan-made (I told her the internet do that a lot of times), and it's pretty much just a fantasy of some fan. But, if you're really serious, sis, then put on your shipping goggles, and start defending your ship! DX

Maybe this is all for today's post. I typed too much, and I kinda feel sick today (and that mood theme of Ron up there is making me feel uncomfortable). Okay guys, logging out.

Too many to list.

Went to a cosplay event today with my sibling and cousin, but left a little bit early because it was getting dark. The costumes were great! Too bad we didn't grab our own camera so we can take pictures. Though, I got myself a treat: a book from the "used books" bookstores.
I was keeping an eye for an English Edition of "Noli Me Tangere" because I have a hard time reading the Tagalog version. There wasn't any. But I found documentary books about the author, Dr. Jose Rizal and books about the Philippines that might be very useful for my novel research. But I don't have enough moneh.

I got an Ace in my English Test, and I'm trading it to my dad for a book. I need more aces so that I could trade them for books with dad's money. I could always but books with my own money but I ended up spending them for different stuffs like printing and the lots.

Speaking of novels, I'm currently writing one. No, it's not about magic and all that stuff. Sadly. It's more focus on politics (related) and real-life situations and problems.

This is going to take a long time.

Visual Novel: Yes

Oh hey, haven't posted in a while. Because school is back! *applause*
Anyways, other than writing my novel and posting the updates at wither stories, I've decided to flesh out my short stories on other mediums. Err, like Visual Novels.
Check out Your Knife at livejournal for visual novel updates and such.
Gotta jet. I'm in serious writing mode.

So I got sick...

and I am back from the sickness.
Last week was actually a very eventual week. Here is what I recall about the week:

Sunday
The start of the head whopping experience, but not much a headache. Downloaded a few Prince of Tennis Doujins, and read a funny fanfic.
Also, dad had brought stuffs from his shopping! So we got this portable sewing machine that looks like a stapler but is actually not. Well, it functions like a stapler, but it has needle and a thread. And then we got tennis clothes dad bought. Cool. And finally, shorts, he brought shorts, thank the gods. He also brought Hopia, but it was the type that I have never tasted before, it's awesome.

And finally, today was the day the Roland Garros (aka The French Open) 2011 goes live on TV!

Monday
The Day I got sick and day I finished reading one long fanfiction. The awesome thing about this day too, is that I have finished typing down the 45,000 word-or-less PJO fanfiction's first chapter. But then there is cleaning, proofreading, then beta....
Watched French Open 2011 Day Two

Tuesday
Told my parent I'm sick, then rested. Watched a few Prince of Tennis episodes on TV. Watched French Open  2011 Day Three.

Wednesday
Still sick, and watched French Open 2011 Day Four.

Thursday
Still sick, and watched a Few Prince of Tennis Episodes and French Open 2011 Day Five.

Friday
I STILL HAVEN'T RECOVERED FOR GOODNESS' SAKE. Also watched French Open 2011 Day Six.

Saturday
Fever going down...then going up. Also watched French Open 2011 Day Seven and a few Prince of Tennis episodes.

Sunday
Fever finally gone! But I haven't took a bath for how many days. My gosh, I have Snape Hair! (even though my hair isn't that long, come on...) and I'm still resting. But I can finally touch the keyboard and tell everyone that I'm back and I'm going to kill the guy who gave me that cough medicine.
And also the day when I discovered that the SON OF NEPTUNE'S BOOK COVER IS REVEALED AND A SNEAK PEEK OF THE FIRST CHAPTER. OH YESSSSS....
Also watched a few Prince of Tennis episodes and French Open 2011 Day Eight.

And so, that has been my log for one week. And don't worry, I've taken a bath now and is continuing writing. I am sooo fanboying over the Son of Neptune, I am shouting at my calendar right now.

A Prince of Tennis OVA Review + Other Stuff

Well, I watched one of the Anime specials in the Prince of Tennis Anime, and decided to give a review. I'll be handing out reviews when a certain anime or manga series has low or no reviews. Phew... Alright, here it comes.

--------------------------

Prince of Tennis: A Day on Survival Mountain is one of the few OVAs that contains side stories of the series yet fairly entertaining.

Story: Nothing special; it's just your typical non main plot-related episode with tennis-related activities and some humor thrown in. Though, aside from that, you find it quite entertaining and could keep you watching until the end. The only problem is that there isn't much tennis action, and the longest match could have been 7 minutes or less, but I don't mind that.

Art: One of the strongest points in The Prince of Tennis series. There is a small improvement in the animation, as expected of a special, and there is minimum amount of frames repeated, which is good.

Sound: You might notice that there is a new set of BGM numbers during the OVA. They are similar to the ones played in the original anime series and were nothing exceptional, but it was cool to listen to something new and refreshing.

Character: There isn't much development in this OVA, both in traits and tennis style, though we get to see one new move Echizen did. We got to introduce to a few new characters, but most of them (two are excluded) aren't really special.

Enjoyment: Despite the lack of tennis action, there was humor that could make us giggle and some new tennis tips and training activities that kept me sitting in the chair.

Overall - Prince of Tennis: A Day on Survival Mountain is one of the few OVAs that contains side stories of the series yet reasonably entertaining at the same time. The OVA could be finished in one sitting (of course). In the end, it is a fairly satisfying watch.

--------------------------

Now to the other stuff. I'm update with New Prince of Tennis! Then it was about time to watch the Match of Rikkaidai in the anime.
...I was disappointed (they didn't follow the manga...uwaaa). But what the heck....quite understandable though.

Science LIED to me.

I love that subject very much until I've watched this video. I really have to watch this Prince of Tennis Movie but my family just won't let me because they aren't finished with the anime. But rejoice! I'm done with the manga, and I'm now reading Shin Prince of Tennis...and fanfics.
But let us leave this aside...
...because SCIENCE LIED TO US.

The exaggerated version of the Tezuka Zone.

I was reading the trope page of Prince of Tennis (I'm now spoiler free since I've finished the manga) when I came across the trope "What do you mean, it's not awesome!?" that stated that Tezuka made the dinosaurs extinct (with a link to the scene). Curious, I decided to click the link and watch it. After that...I didn't know what to say. And I couldn't contain myself anymore when the dinosaurs appeared on screen. What I'm suppose to be saying is: This. Is. Tennis
I bet anything that after a few months (maybe years), this will become an internet phenomena.

Why are cats the rulers of the universe?

...okay, maybe they are not the rulers of the whole universe but the rulers of the internet. My whole left arm is aching because of tennis racket swinging, but we are not talking about that right now. Who on earth started all this "the internet loves cats" thing? I know cats are like, the awesomest thing that was ever known or something of that sort, but really...can we have lizards for a change? Lizards are awesome too, you know! I got used to having cats around my house these days so I know their behavior very well. So when me dad adopted a puppy (hoorah!), their movement is so weird and stuff and is not like the cats. In a couple of days, I didn't get their behavior until I got used to it.

But anyways, could anyone answer my question, "why are cats the rulers of the universe?"

A new sig after a year without creating other sigs.

After A year without making any forum signatures...I made one.
Alas, I'm not allowed to download brushes online and I'm still mastering stuff to render a certain image. Pfffttt...
I can't even download FONTS what the heck.
I was too lazy to look up those Anime Sig Tutorials online, so I created mine from scratch (with all I know of Photoshop for the past year).
Notes: Okay, maybe I cheated; I used a stock image for the background and edited it up. And the sig ended up with a nasty username watermark. Tried to find something appealing to put it in...

Doing some Promotions.

Right, well, I was bored, and maybe setting up a promotion page will help a bit.

OH MAI COD (Silent Hill Talk)

Cross posted from dA.

I've been addicted to Silent Hill for the past months since I've been digging around dad's old PlayStation Games. My Resident Evil fanatic inside just died of boredom and is looking for something that has a very unique storyline. There are loads of games in PlayStation One, so I went CD swimming. I was so lucky that I found the old Silent Hill game, and surprisingly, it's still with it's great condition! I was a little kid when I watch me dad play the game in PSone and I was scared to wits. Now I'm big enough to handle horror games, I decided to play it on our old PStwo (we don't have PSthree because we need a Flat-Screen TV). Dude, I was still scared! But, unlike Resident Evil, the game has a real story, that isn't written in reports, papers found all around and stuff. Told STRAIGHT OUT.
But no offense to RE, I still love that game with all the guns and stuff.

For a while now, my little sister, who actually finished the games Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill: Origins and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (there are problems with Silent Hill 3 and 4's CDs, so we can't play it, sadly...maybe because the CDs had been jealous or something) asked a very interesting yet hard-to-answer-because-I-can't-decide-which-is-who question: She asked me who is my favorite character among these protagonists: Harry Mason (SHone), James Sunderland (SHtwo), or Travis Grady (SHOrigins)?
In that point, I hesitated; those guys are actually cool. In my mind I was like, "Can I wait until we know all of the protagonists of the series? Like Henry Townsend (we already watch dad play him. He's kinda cool), Heather Mason (Unfortunately, the Game Disc Broke before playing her), and Alex Shepherd (WE NEED HOMECOMING, like, NOW)? We haven't check those guys yet."
But Sis wanted a straight answer. I said nothing. But I think I should stick with Travis for a while. But Harry was like, "THE BADDASS DAD IN WHOLE GAMING HISTORY" and James "NEEDED A HUG FROM HIS WIFE, THAT'S ALL."

So, I still said nothing.

But Silent Hill 1 is still my most favorite game of all the games.
Now I've been reading a Silent Hill fan Novelization for a guide, because, I too, will write a fan novelization, but with a Twist. Your Mileage may Vary (i.e. your opinions will change) on it, but still, I think it'll be awesome. It's still Fanfiction, I say.

But then, today, I was browsing the internet for REAL SH official novelizations, and when I read some, I was leaping in joy. Now all I need is to complete my studies on Japanese language, order a few copies from amazon, and parteh all around! But something very interesting came up in search: a fan decided to translate the Silent Hill 2 novel! I came across this, being translated by Ducky. I salute to her, for she will translate SH1 and SH3 too. I'll read the translation soon.

In other news, Summer Vacation is here!

Sorry for the long post, but I just want to let out my SH fanatic inside of me in the minute I opened dA. And I need something to help relieve myself from Hard and Strict Tennis Training. Well, nothing to hide now. Back to writing.

Hey guys, I'm back!

So hows life, everyone?
Pretty much hard. Anyways, school's going to end soon, and I'll be busy with my stories.
And I'm just posting here so that I'm showing you lot that I'm still alive and well.

Happy Bday to...DAD!

Ah, screw what I said in the previous post; I WANT TO READ THE SECOND BOOK NAO!
Anyways, I already bought the 4th books of PJO. Now I'm planning to buy the Last Book and The PJO: Ultimate Guide. I checked both prices: Well, the ultimate guide seems buyable, but the last book...GAR! and it is only in hardcover, no paperback! I'll just have to add the book in my Christmas Wishlist and save money for "The Red Pyramid".

Now off to the book discussion.

I've been thinking of the a podcast. That's right! Let this blog have a podcast! Or, the blog that we have put up, "Fairy Tail Fandom". I would like to speak with the creator of the club, if she can accept the idea.

Also...as the title of this post says...HAPPY BDAY TO MY DAD!
We went to the gift shop and bought something. Hope he likes it.

That is all for today guys! Thanks for reading!

Doing a lot of Research.

While finishing my ongoing fanfictions in FF.net, in the sidelines, I was doing further researches for the Future fanfictions. I hang around Wikipedia and TVtropes recently (more tvtropes), digging to main articles, wild mass guessing, character profiles...so on and so forth.

Apparently, I might have to re-read the series again. 9_9

Auuggghh....so much pain....

Oh yeah, My message to all will have total makeover next year, and Red Threads...I'm currently making a makeover. Though, quite unnoticeable, you should check chapters 1 and 2, especially 2.

Revelations of A Son will probably, like what I say in the past, one of my most longest FF work with TsubasaxHarryPotter crossover series. If possible, my Fairy Tail Fanfic might catch up too if it had a lot of audiences. But of course...Tsubasa's manga has ended last year so I...guess I'll have to re-read it and take down notes while writing the draft. 9_9

Ahhhh....I have to much spare time....
